Iโm happy to report that thanks to your support, I went from having no applicants for my Building A Future scholarship two weeks ago to selecting TWO scholarship winners! The awards ceremony is tomorrow night so STAY TUNED to see who won! Thanks again for sharing this post and supporting my scholarship fund!

Well, I am truly bummed to report that I got absolutely ZERO applicants for my Building A Future trade scholarship for the second year in a row. So: I will be taking those funds (which I GREATLY appreciate!) and donating them to a deserving organization yet to be determined. So at this point, I will be discontinuing this scholarship for Wayland High School. Hopkins seniors still have until May 14th to apply. Last I knew I had no applicants there either. Hopefully I will not be forced to do the

Finished this flooring job today in the nick of time! The owners son was released from the hospital today after his double leg amputation from the knees down. So they stopped by today to give the place a test run. Good thing they did because we found one spot where his new wider wheelchair wouldnโt fit through. Lucky for them they knew a guy who could take care of it! We passed the wheelchair test and he reports itโs much easier to navigate the trailer on the new floor and wider door way!

I got so busy I almost forgot to promote my scholarship fund!
I would like to give one deserving Hopkins High School senior $3000 to receive training for a career in the building trades. OK so itโs not โdoneโ- done, the home owners are going to put the finishing touches on it but my portion of the Striegle bathroom remodel is complete! We utilized what was a walk in closet to enlarge their existing master bathroom to include a full size shower, larger vanity, and also a small closet for the adjacent bedroom. Thanks to Don Pattock for handling the plumbing and of course the Striegles for the work! :)

Well, after remodeling three bathrooms in a row by myself, I am reminded of why I am in this business in the first place. I believe I am going back to my original business model of me doing all the work I am capable of and using my awesome mechanical subcontractors for the rest. If you have any smaller remodel jobs such as baths, kitchens, basements, mini barns, decks etc. please contact me. I am booking for March/April.

Got the tile guy going at the Williams residence, plumbers finishing the Church residence, starting demo at the Buist job and if thereโs time I can get over to the Howard job and finish up the trim.ย ย Iโm enjoying this winter slowdown......๐

The Howard bath remodel is coming along! We removed and replaced the old shower, re-framed the bulkhead above for a small cedar cabinet storage area, removed The linen closet and door adjacent to the shower to create a laundry area for a stackable unit, and widened the doorway into the bathroom to allow for a 6 inch wider door. Stay tuned for the full reveal next week!

New basement bath for the Jaworskiโs! Itโs not quite done as they are handling the painting and the shower door but my work here is done! Removed the old fiberglass shower, installed a new walk in tile shower, Tile flooring, rain head and hand held shower heads, new vanity, exhaust fan and lights. More pics to come when they finish!

OK: I have the plumbers starting the next bathroom remodel, exterior trim going on the three season porch/gazebo project, Interior trim being installed in the garage/breezeway project and the detached garage project is now ready for the electrician. I guess itโs time to go back and try to catch up on my bids.....

I got to talk with 2 classes at Wayland Union HS this morning about their career options after graduation and my Building A Future scholarship. Big thank yous to Lisa Gulch for setting it up and Roy Harter for giving me a tour of the wood shop. These kids built a revolving set for an upcoming play! There IS hope! ๐

The Penning addition is getting closer! We added a 30โx40โ garage with a 10โ lean to in the back and connected it to the existing home with a 10โx15โ breezeway. Owners are painting next then I can install the trim! Thanks to Jake Perez, Elliot Gless, Steve Spray, Quincy Collings, Frank Iciek, Nate Iciek, and Tony Brooks for all the hard work!
